Hey look, I've got a subscription! This is so awesome!... well, it isn't that awesome, seeing that everyone gets the large thumbnails now; although the 120 thumbs a page is pretty good, and the really awesome feature of showing the thumbs in the MessageCenter and all that extra info jazz is pretty cool. Ok, so, I paid for a subscription for three months the other night, just to try it out, get to know all the features, and if I thought it was worth it at the end of the three month period, I'd buy another sub for a year. So far: it's not too bad, but it'll need to get better. What do I mean? Well, in daV4, there were so many extra things subscribers got that normal users didn't - and now there isn't; there aren't that many "special" features just for subscribers. One of the major things that people got a subscription for was to be able to have really large thumbnails! Yeah - who doesn't want awesomely large thumbnails?! Every does, so now in this new version/layout, everyone gets them, including you non-subscribing people.
At the moment, the only real benefits for me, and the only reason I'm not yelling about a refund, are for a few reasons;-
- 120 deviantations per page. I really like this. Yeah, it may take a few more seconds for each page to load, but 120 thumbs is one hell of a lot better than 24, you with me?
- Polls and them other extra userpage stuffs.Polls, shoutbox, images in journals, and all that jazz are really nice. Fun, too!
- Little * in your name, Ok, maybe I'm just a showoff, but I like commenting and stuff with people knowing that I'm a subscriber. Or, if you're in the mood to do some beta testing, you can turn it on and change your * to a =.
- Special Subscriber Forum. I'm not gonna go into much detail... because it's secret

- No ads. This is, of cource, and upsite for obvious reasons. Although, ads don't really bother me that much, but I know it pisses tons of people off.
- MessageCenter goodness. Thumbnails and extra text in the MessageCenter just pwn. You don't know how good it is until you use it yourself.
I don't even think you can use an understand all the new things a subscription offers you in just a week. So don't even bother attempting to say, "Well I had a one week sub for free that deviantART gave me and I didn't think it was that good." Because I reckon you need more than a week. I'm still finding stuff out myself!
So anyways, subscriptions aren't too bad. At the moment I'm trying to find out all the ways I can customize my journal, and I'm wondering: if I make tons of polls and that, will all that go away when my subscription runs out? And say I get another subscription after a week or two of no subscription, will all my old polls and that still be here, or removed?
That is all.
over and out!
